2011 Icon Barossa Valley Shiraz

With each vintage we earmark a small parcel of fruit as being the epitome of that year, [the] ICON. Often a difficult decision with much debate around the tasting table through harvest.

In one of the most challenging vintages in 30 years, this vineyard was a veritable beacon of hope producing stunning fruit that flys in the face of the 2011 vintage.

Rich and oplulent with intense aroma of balckberry, blackcurrant and cassis; following are hints of dark chocolate, licorice and dark cherry with a waft of well-judged vanillin oak.

Sumptuous and textured palate with beautifully detailed, ripe black fruits flowing seamlessly across the palate, lifted by a little jasmine blossom.

Hints of five spice, dark chocolate, licorice and judicious french oak provide a complex harmony and finish of great length, balance and purity.
